Humane Society

I've been going to the Humane Society here in Logan and have found a brief fix to my puppy cravings. There, I am able to walk the dogs and practice training them to sit and walk on a leash. It's been fun because I can apply what I learn from the Animal Planet channel and see if it really works. Nadia and I fell in love with one puppy. Her name is Peggy Sue. Of course, I would want to change her name to something else. Here is a picture of her:

Peggy Sue is an American Staffordshire Terrier. I'm still not sure what that means, but they look a lot like a pit pull. I looked up some information on AmStaffs and found that they are actually cousin the the American Pit Bull. It said that they were good with children, but need to be socialized with other dogs.

After thinking about it for sometime though, I have come to the conclusion that this breed is not right for us as a first dog. They need serious training and need to know who is their pack leader and I'm afraid that I don't have a clue on how to do that. I am a little hesitant, because they can be naturally aggressive to other dogs.
